On Tuesday the 28th of June we held
our official
Grand Opening. We were joined by Gerry
Wood,
Member for Nelson who did the honours
of
"Opening" the shed. Thanks Gerry!

This shed is the culmination of years
of
hard work by members in all sorts of
fundraising,
from sausage sizzles, quiz nights,
raffles
and stalls. Huge thanks to all that
have
assisted in making this dream a reality.
Thanks to everyone who has attended
training,
taught training and helped out with
training.
Training funds are our 'bread &
butter'
and all of it goes in to improving
the club.
The building of our shed has been our
aim
and focus for many, many years.
Thanks also go to all the un-noticed
jobs
of countless people. Those who have
been
on the Committee, those who fundraised,
those
who have stored and cared for equipment,
those who contributed to working bees,
syllabus
planning days, all who assisted at
trials
with the table duties, judges dinners,
billeting
judges and organising all the paperwork.
The Shed/Club House is the first time
in
20 years we've had a place to call
home.
Now we have a home our focus will be
on improving
training and equipment for the future.
A big thanks goes to Jeff at Area Steel.
Without Jeff's generous discount we
would
still be a few years away from having
our
shed. Jeff and Cathy were a pleasure
to work
with and incredibly helpful.

the 2010 Community Benefit Fund grant
- Jeff & the crew at Area Steel - especially
for the donation of insulation and whirlybird
to keep us cool!
- David Ewing for concreting the ramps
